　　“適時(shí)等待”就是指在不適合斷句的時(shí)候，譯員為了使譯出的句子準(zhǔn)確連貫，適時(shí)放慢速度，等發(fā)言人講出較為完整的意思后接著翻譯。這種“等待”就需要譯員具有工作記憶力，一般工作記憶力的時(shí)效非常有限，因此譯員等待的時(shí)間不宜過久，所以在該斷時(shí)就要“當(dāng)機(jī)立斷”。不做出準(zhǔn)確地判斷而等待過久常常會(huì)使記憶負(fù)擔(dān)過重，最后導(dǎo)致漏譯等問題的出現(xiàn)。
